Samsung, in cooperation with Intel, developed a new operating system called Tizen. Perhaps it completely replace android in new Samsung smartphones in the future. Tizen uses the WebKit browser engine (based on the Linux kernel).
It supports both of native applications (specifically for this system) and written in HTML5, jQuery and JavaScript applications. A foretaste of system capabilities on the Samsung devices we can preview thanks to Engadget web page. The tested model of smartphone is powered by Tizen 2.0, has 4.7-inch HD screen very similar to the Galaxy S III and supports HD films hardware acceleration on the GPU.
